I am wondering if it is legal in MA to tape record IEP meetings, as well as other meetings at school regarding my son?

All parties in any type of meeting must agree to being recorded. It can’t be hidden.

In NJ, as long as tehperson recording teh conversation is a part of teh conversation-it can be secretly recorded-

    for example-Person A could record a conversation between person a and b

but person a could not record a converstaion between people B and C

so in NJ you could tape it secretly

don’t accept answers that sound like guesses-they may be right-but you have no way to tell unless they are supported by links/references

Yes, it is legal for them to tape the meeting. It is also legal for you to tape the meeting. In fact, refuse to go on until you get your own tape recorder in the meeting.

As i said earlier, you need to file for due process immediately. The school district is getting pretty serious when they start taping the meetings.
