How many pregnant women are getting the swine flu vaccine?
LuLu asked:
I want to know if any of you pregnant women have gotten or are getting the swine flu vaccine? Is it really safe? How bad is the swine flu for pregnant women? Will your baby die? Let me know of your thoughts. Thanx

I am thinking about it. They are offering it at the school I work at for free. I am indecisesive right now….
I hear lots of bed things about the H1N1 but I also hear bad things about the vaccine. And since it’s brandnew I’m kinda scared to be part of the first load of people to try it…
I personally am not going to get that shot. I did get my flu shot. The doctors say they recommend you get the H1NI shot although this is the first year of them giving the shot so they don’t know all the risk and affects so no thanks I think I will pass this year. When I went for my appointment the other day the nurse and doctor both said they got it the day before and still had a headache and asked if I was going to get it and I said no thanks .
go to CDC.gov my brother, aunt and uncle are nurses, my other aunt is a dr. They all highly recommend it for pregnant women. The same serum thats used for the reg flu shot is used in the H1N1 shot. The ONLY difference is the dead virus. Im going to get it.
I’m not getting it. I just don’t feel comfortable with it. Most cases are no worse than the seasonal flu, so I’m not really panicked over it. You have to make the decision that’s right for you….there’s so much information out there, it can be really confusing. I’m just going to practice good hand-washing habits, and eat well to try to keep my immune system as healthy as possible.
Well my doctor hasn’t told me to get it yet and I am due in 5 weeks so I don’t think I am going to get it. I got the regular flu vaccine because he recommended it. I am not getting it. I don’t leave my house that much so I don’t foresee me getting it.
I have heard it is REALLY bad for those who do get it. I am due so close to now that is the only reason I am not getting it.
I already had H1N1 when I was about 15 weeks pregnant, there was no major warning out for pregnant women yet.
I can tell you the it was the worst I have ever felt, I had to have my mother in law come a look after my daughter as I could not move from lying down, also the fever was really bad…
Funny enough I think I picked it up at the hospital when I was a birthing partner for my friend, I was going back and forth to the ER where you had to walk through the swine flu people to get to the vending machine!
So I am not getting the vaccine as I should already have an immunity to the current strain! I am 34 weeks pregnant!
I was just lucky that me and my baby are okay!
I am NOT getting it. There are no reports out yet of the effects of the vaccine on an unborn child. I won’t risk it.
I am 26 weeks pregnant and I got the vaccine on Friday. I read all over that they are very careful to do all the necessary checks before approving the vaccine. I havent had any problems with the shot and my baby seems to be kicking just as usual. It really is the same as the seasonal flu vaccine just with the h1n1 strain instead of the seasonal strain. I read about possible side effects to the baby if you need to be given Tamiflu from getting h1n1 flu and it seems much worse than the vaccine. Right now 1 in 3 pregnant women have died from it, so I just thought why risk dying when there is a vaccine that has been approved and recommended by the CDC. I think its the best option.
