Why have Republicans in congress have declared that there will never be health care reform?

health care reform

i_was_myself asked:

Therefore why should anyone give them attention? They don’t want it. Instead they just want to leave us with high prices.

Health care reform will bring prices down. That is what republicans in congress oppose.

So Obama dropped his Orwellian Snitch website only to replace it with a new one? Do they think we are stupid?

  2. azz_tarcomed on January 20th, 2010

    so do some democrats

If not the bill would already be passed

  3. I know You Know That I Know on January 20th, 2010

Nobody said there wouldn’t be reform. There may not be a public option though.

republicans oppose the public insurance option, but want to cut prices but in a different way. they also support some of the proposals in the bill, but they do not want public health care

Republicans are hypocrites and/or have amnesia.

The last time we had HC reform was under Republican control, but no Republican cried socialism or defended their rights as their party passed the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act.

They didn’t even show a whimper, when Thomas Scully–a Bush appointee–concealed the actual estimate. Bush and Scully said the 10yr cost would be around $400 billion, when in fact the actual estimates put it over $1.2 trillion.

Can you give me the exactly section and subsection where the current bill outlines the cost and who will pay what for the health care?

Until i hear specifics, I can’t make the assumption that it won’t be just as expensive as it now.

    Can you? I dare you.

Kinda reminds me when my state wanted to pass the law that it would be illegal to not have car insurance. One of the premises was that it would be less expensive. Well, its not. In fact, they have raised insurance prices many times.

Because the insurance executives that own them told them to oppose health care reform.

You still don’t get 84% of America does not want it also. It just isn’t Republicans that want government out of health care. Are you happy with the DMV or the post office? Now imagine city or state workers running an emergency room, think you would live until they get to you. Do yourself a favor and let the thinking to people who can.

  10. Cordell on January 31st, 2010

That is because they are making money off those high prices, that is how they get paid.

It wasn’t all that long ago, you guys were
saying it was over for republicans, now you
don’t get your free bandages to wrap your
poor little wounds of getting beat on the health
care scam! You have a few rich democrats in
your ensemble who didn’t want to buy your
aspirin either, so as the fiddle plays……

The healthcare lobby lines their pockets under the guise of the “free market system”.

Screw them. All of them. The silent majority in America is demanding health care and we aren’t taking no for an answer this time.

  13. samadams14 on February 7th, 2010

just because reform is attached to it does not mean prices will come down.

just like the stimulus did nothing to stimulate. it was a pay off to Obama’s cronies.

Republicans stand for a strong economy. Dems stand for sticking it to the most productive members of society and giving their money to the least productive.

Republicans are haters, pure and simple. if they were in charge, we would never have had minimum wage, social security, Medicare, etc…

so now they’re against universal (public option) health care. big surprise.

obviously, the party of corruption (republicans) has been bought off by the lobbying industry of the insurance companies, so they’ll be against any effort to promote change to benefit the whole country, while still considering themselves the party of moral integrity.

Well, it isn’t that Republicans don’t want health care reform. They do. They just want the kind of health care reform that would be representative of a Republican house majority and one backed by a Republican President. Right now, the Democrats want health care reform which is backed by a Democratic President. Most of this crap anyway doesn’t even have anything to do with health care reform other than the political side of it. Why else would people like Sarah Palin be talking about “death panels” when the provision doesn’t even exist in the the first place? The Republicans are just making stuff up. Oh, but don’t get me wrong, if the Republicans were running the show, the Democrats would certainly make up all sorts of stuff too during the passing of a Republican run House bill by twisting everything they could; relying on the fact that Americans don’t read and so forth. And the battle goes on.
