When will the unadjuvented version of the H1N1 vaccine be availble in Alberta?

A O asked:

I am 23 weeks pregnant and extremely sceptical about the H1N1 vaccine and the level of mercury in it. I feel like I damned if I get it and damned if I don’t. Does anyone know when the unadjumented version will be available in Alberta? Does it contain less mercury?

I’m not 100% (no one really is at this point) but I work in a medical facility where we have two offices, one in Ontario and one in Alberta.
We are HOPING to get the vaccine within the next couple weeks, but due to the shortage of the vaccine across the country, there’s no way of knowing for sure.

    I’m sorry I couldn’t give you a better answer.

Personally, I wouldn’t. The major concern is that the virus will mutate and become something more severe. It isn’t related to most flu strains, so most people don’t have anti-bodies to it (particularly those under 50).

If you’re worried about adverse effects from thiomersal (the mercury based preservative) then don’t worry too much about it for now. The current strain isn’t really any worse than most flu viruses.
