health care reform

Mary asked:

What do you think of the more than 1,000 page house and more than 600 page senate bills to “reform” health care?

Also, what do you think of the town hall meetings being held by members of congress?

The town hall meetings are ridiculous. Noone can get anything done or said because of the cartoonishly dramatic reactions of some people. Aren’t we all adults? Can’t we throw out people who only seem concerned with creating more noise? Cripes.

I think the size of the bills is pretty much par for the course. Exhaustingly huge and uneccesarily complicated. Go democracy!

I think I am mightily enjoying seeing some of these over payed, nearly dead old goats get yelled at for a change.. Probably the first time in years they might be earning their salaries.

They are saying that the town hall meetings are NOT representative of all Americans.

Really? Then why are they wasting their time doing these meetings.

If they would open their ears a little, they would find that yes, many, many Americans feel the same way as the folks at the town hall meetings.

we have had too many bills go through congress
without a full read on them –

    like the stimulus bills, etc

    enough is enough

the members of congress are getting out to hear their constituents
and we are fed up – and they are catching it

the members say they can;t have meaningful discussions
    well – two years ago I attended a Senator’s 2 hour
community discussion – - – - and the plants were there

by that meaning – - the thousand member organizations
who wanted to thank the senator for their support of-
yada yada yada yada yada yada
NONE OF US LITTLE PEOPLE GOT A CHANCE TO SPEAK

it’s no wonder we are shouting – cause you sure ain’t listening

look forward to the meeting 9-12-09 in Washington

and the next election – in 2010

they better be scared down to their boots

we are mad as heck and not going to take it anymore

If Jefferson, Madison, and Adams were extremists – I am glad to
be counted as an extremist, too.

    God Bless America !

I think the town hall meetings are a joke as right wing wacko groups just flood these things to push their agenda and conspiracy theories.

I wish they gave people psychological test before entering one of these things and if they say anything

When I hear a Congressman saying ‘We have to push this through fast’, I get really concerned about what their agenda really is.
People are angry. Our money is gone.
Don’t be fooled – this isn’t over by a long shot. Things are going to get worse.

I mean seriously these people at the town hall meetings riot too much. The current health care system is part of the reason why we have so much deficit, debt and the reason why we have some of the highest mortality rates in the world. If you think the current health care system is fine, take a look at the “Sicko” documentary and then tell me what you think. They SAY all these negative things but don’t have any proof.
